Last month, we welcomed 25 budding entrepreneurs to Loughborough University London’s Here East campus for a weekend festival of entrepreneurship, Echo-style.
We were delighted to partner with our friends at Make Happy to facilitate the weekend – they put our entrepreneurs through their paces with business modelling, identifying their entrepreneurial style, and getting to grips with the realities of what it takes to run a business.
We heard from established entrepreneurs including founders of lifestyle blog Secrets of Green, non-alcoholic beer brand FitBeer, illustration and greetings card company Jelly Armchair and health and wellbeing product, Squease, about the highs and lows of their business journeys, and tapped into Echo-experts on topics including finance, PR and customer segments.
Even the catering was sourced via an Echo member – delicious and healthy Greek food provided by Hackney Wick-based cafe Gaia Pulses.
Here’s what some of our budding entrepreneurs had to say about the Echo++ Weekender:
“As someone who arrived with only a product idea, I can’t put into words how useful this weekend has been.”
“It’s almost unbelievable that this kind of workshop is accessible just by giving a bit of your time and effort to the community. Echo is a fantastic model and I feel very privileged to be part of it and hoping to get even more involved. Thanks so much everyone.”
“So. Much. Serendipity.”
We’re continuing to support this cohort of budding entrepreneurs as their businesses grow, and can’t wait to see what they do next!
